Airport safety
Considering the international context and new International Civil Aviation Organization –I CAO standards and recommendations, civil aviation safety remains a major ONDA’s concern.
Within this framework, a rigorous action plan has been elaborated and implemented with the whole safety chain actors. This plan is articulated around the following axes:
Regulation
A national committee has been in charge of updating the national regulation as regards to civil aviation safety. This committee has already finalized a decree project relative to certain safety measures as well as has updated the national safety civil aviation plan, in accordance with ICAO amendment 10 of Appendix 17.
Training
In collaboration with ICAO, two Moroccan expert groups, representing various organizations in charge of civil aviation safety, have been trained on standardized ICAO pedagogic teaching.
Locally, ONDA’s AVSEC center has worked out and initiated other specific trainings. It is in particular about :
- Training security guards who are in charge of initiating their personnel's access requests, writing safety programmes of their company and serving as interlocutors near safety services;
- Awarness training of directors and heads of companies working in the airport;
- Awarness training for the holders of badge;
- Technicians group's training on maintenance of safety equipment within the framework of new machine's acquisitions.
Civil aviation safety drills
In partnership with the International Civil Aviation Organization, crisis management drills were organized at Fès Saiss airport on June 15th, 2005, in accordance with Safety National plan requirements and ICAO recommendations which stipulate that countries adhering to the organization must organize a crisis management drill every 2 years.
Safety
Within ONDA’s strategy framework aiming at guaranteeing air operations safety at international airports and at being in conformity with national regulations, installations have been upgraded and human resources performances improved.
